For our first project, I learned a lot about the six dimensions of health and wellness. This also included Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Even though I learned about Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs back in High School, it really refreshed my memory because I haven’t visited this topic for a while. It was a great refresher all together. I learned a lot about my health and what I need to do to change my diet to life a happy and healthy lifestyle. Not only do I need to change my diet, but also change my mindset to be happy. It is very difficult to be happy due to all the life changing circumstance and academic work that comes along. Having a lot of deadlines too soon could also decrease happiness and bring a lot of stress to someone’s life. This is currently happening to me right now because of all the work that has been kept last minute. This project also related to the six dimensions of health and wellness. The six dimensions of health and wellness include: emotional, occupational, physical, spiritual, intellectual, and social wellness. These six dimensions have a major role in sustaining a healthy lifestyle, it also helps an individual reach a goal in life and maintain these goals. I learned about how I would improve or maintain my current health, the importance of sustaining a healthy lifestyle, and created 3 goals for myself. The three goals that I have created for myself was to create a healthy lifestyle is to find balance in social well-being, find balance in environmental well-being, and eat better. This was the first step in helping myself become a better person and live a healthy lifestyle. I not only had to find what I needed to do, but also finish what I told myself to finish. This project was actually fun because I had to find out if I had a healthy lifestyle or not, in which I don’t. Then I had to figure out how I could improve my current health. This project was not that bad and I recommend people to take the test and see how their six dimensions of health is and see what they could improve in their lives.
